How to Increase Organic Traffic Without SEO in 2019?

Posted by Nicolas Demarty on

Why are you here?

You want to increase your organic traffic via Google and you know, after reading or practicing, SEO is a long-term game and endless and never finished tasks.

Let's put some contexts on Organic Traffic growth and what our research told us:

  • SEO is expensive
  • SEO takes time
  • SEO required knowledge
  • SEO required constant change and adjustment

To be clear, It's all about the money you can allocate to it, either using an Agency or hiring the right person(s).

Since we are an ethical generalist e-store, our margins are slim and we have to be creative!

We managed to increase our traffic organically without SEO using these 4 easy steps.

1. It's all about content pages

Google Search prefers content to product pages, in fact, 55% of the traffic is directed using a content page to a specific website, we see the same for our store. So we give what Google likes. We play the game!

Be sure that your page or blog template is SEO proofed! We use blog pages like the one we are on for this blog.

You need to follow trending topics and choose the one you can write about. Like the one, we are writing about now.

2. Keywords research

Use your favorite tools for that! We use the Search Console and a bunch of free tools!

The research is key to have your page ranked in the top 10! Spent some time on it!

We are looking for 10 to 15 keywords querying at 30000/day that we will include in our blog

3. Write and Index

Now, it is time to write about your topic... about 3000 to 4500 words. Be authentic, respect the work of others (Copywrite) and bring value-added ideas to the reader.

Title, First 100 words, and last 100 words are the most important but don't shovel keywords, your page will be penalized by the algorithm.

If you are happy with what you wrote, publish ... no need to be perfect, it's an incremental process.

What we understand currently about google linguistic algorithm.

  • It's black-box analyzing content
  • Linguistic is highly structured science
  • Developers are structured
  • Quality of the content is scored/weight
  • The ranking is affected by the score of the content, The source, the performance as a source, etc...

We believe the simplicity of writing is helping to rank. The algorithm understands already, at a degree, regional nuances of the language but will favor commonality.

Index your page using google search console.

4. Adjustment and re-index

After 24h to 48h go to google analytics and Google Search console.

Keep what is working... replace or improve some keywords that are not working and reindex. Do it 2 or 3 times until the page stick to the wall.

Using this approach we have seen an increase in organic traffic around 30%. You can either monetize your blog (we don't do it) or redirect the reader to your products.
